Who we are
The Arizona Faith for Peace Campaign is a growing movement of faith leaders from across the state who share a commitment to fostering more peace, civility, and respect in our public spaces. On International Day of Peace, we come together to issue a joint statement calling on Arizonans to reject division and hostility and to embrace dialogue and moral leadership.
We are clergy and community leaders from a wide range of faith traditions who believe that peace is possible, and that our voices are stronger together. We invite other faith leaders to join us by adding their names to the statement and helping carry this message into congregations and communities across Arizona.
Our statement
A united call to end political violence and restore peace and civility
Today, on the International Day of Peace, we as faith leaders come together to express our united belief in peaceful civic engagement. At a time when divisive rhetoric and actions are increasingly accepted as a form of expression, we condemn violence in all its forms.
Relying on our diverse faith traditions, we speak with a united voice to declare that differences of opinion in civil society must be addressed with mutual respect and dignified dialogue.
Our faiths require us to be peacemakers in our communities through our words and deeds. We call on elected officials, community leaders, and all Arizonans to embrace the ideals of listening and good faith negotiations.
